About BEACON: Impacted Systems: Employee Leave Tracking System (ELTS)
Business Purpose:
The Employee Leave Tracking System (ELTS) captures time and attendance information to support the payroll process. The system is used by nine agencies (Office of State Personnel, Office of the State Controller, Office of State Budget & Management, Office of the Governor, Department of Justice, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Labor, Cultural Resources, and the Secretary of State) and is not integrated with Central Payroll. State agencies that do not use this application maintain time and attendance data in their own stand-alone applications or in hard copies.
Capabilities:
- This system permits users to enter their leave time via an online self-service system.
- ELTS tracks hours worked plus vacation, sick time, and other leave balances that are collected on an hourly basis.
- The system accommodates approximately 3,000 users.
Technical Platform:
The system was developed over five years using web enabled DB2, J2EE Java and MQ Series.
